New look website
The old website
I initially setup forzaphoto.co.uk way back in 2005 to list all the motorsport events that I had been at. At the time I was pretty happy with the look of the site and being that I was a web designer, I could make all the changes to it that I wanted. Unfortunately as the years went on I started to realise that it was taking up far to much of my time when it came to listing the photos.
After each day I would sit in the media centre at the track or in the hotel room going through the days photos, editing them and then uploading them to the website. Pretty straight forward uh? Looking through the photos was not a issue, but when it starts to get to 22:00hrs and you just want to get something to eat or drive back to the hotel and you still have to upload the pictures to the site, that is when you start to think there must be a simple way.
New look website
So in August 2009 I decided to scrap the old look website for something more similar to upload for me but also for the visitor. It allows me to upload the pictures to one directory and display them automatically on the site. I can now assign each photo to a certain category so as per the screen shot you can search by driver or team.
I now look forward to be leaving the circuit early after each day and not getting emails from visitors asking for all photos of Fernando Alonso when there is now a section dedicated to him.
Driver/Team Categories
I am in the process of still uploading all my old photos from seasons dating back to 2005 which is taking longer than I thought. I am also vetting some events which are abit out dated now and with my keen photography eye, ditching them. I welcome your comments on this new blogging site aswell as my new photography website.
